A simple plated Wagyu burger with a few sides

Big or Small, Better Is Better

We tend to think about portions in terms of size.

How big is the burger? How much is on the plate? How much food does it take to feel like we've had a satisfying meal?

But sometimes, better changes the equation.

When the beef itself is rich, flavorful, and nutrient-dense, it doesn't need as much help from everything around it. A smaller portion can still feel substantial. A simple burger can actually taste like beef. And the center of the plate can do more of the work.

When the Beef Is the Meal

Think about how we often build a burger: a large bun, cheese, sauces, condiments, relish, toppings—and somewhere in the middle is the beef.

There's nothing wrong with any of those things. But great beef gives you another option.

When the flavor is already there, you may find yourself reaching for less.

Less sauce to add richness.
Less bread to make the meal feel substantial.
Fewer toppings to create flavor.

Sometimes salt, pepper, a hot grill, and good beef are enough.

Richness Changes Portions

American Wagyu is known for its richness, and that can change the way a meal feels.

Instead of asking, "How much can we put on the plate?" it becomes, "How much do we actually need?"

A thoughtfully sized portion of flavorful beef paired with vegetables, potatoes, eggs, or a simple salad can make for an incredibly satisfying meal without having to build volume around it.

That doesn't mean every portion needs to be smaller. It simply means quality gives you more flexibility.

More From What You Eat

Beef naturally provides protein along with important nutrients such as iron, zinc and vitamin B12. When you start with something that brings both nutrition and flavor to the plate, simplicity becomes a little easier.

That's one of the things we appreciate most about better beef.

It doesn't demand a complicated recipe.
It doesn't need to be buried beneath extras.
And it doesn't have to occupy half the plate to make the meal worthwhile.

Better Is Better

Maybe tonight it's a thick steak shared between two people.
Maybe it's a smaller burger without the oversized bun.
Maybe it's a few ounces of ground beef added to eggs, vegetables, or potatoes.
Or maybe it's a generous burger piled high with everything you love.

There aren't rules.

The point is simply this:

When the ingredient at the center of the meal is better, you have the freedom to do less with it.

Big portion or small portion.
Simple or elaborate.
Better is better.
